U.S. President Donald Trump spoke by phone on Thursday with Russian President Vladimir Putin and a statement about their conversation will be released later in the day, White House spokeswoman Sarah Sanders said.

“President Trump spoke with Putin earlier today and a read out will be sent later tonight,” she said in an emailed statement.

Putin and discussed bilateral relations and situation in the Korean Peninsula during a telephone call, the Kremlin said in a statement early on Friday. Both leaders agreed to continue contacts, the Kremlin added, but did not provide further details.
